Bucs Cornerback Aqib Talib Arrested

Bucs Aqib Talib Arrested

The off the field issues with the Tampa Bay Bucs continued early Thursday morning as starting cornerback Aqib Talib was arrested in Pinellas County, Florida by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Apparently, Talib had punched a man, David Duggan, in his ear and neck.  While riding in a taxi, he refused to leave the vehicle when asked by State Trooper John Ryan.

He was arrested on misdemeanor charges of simple battery and resisting arrest without violence. You can see the arrest photo here by the Pinellas County Sheriff's office website.

Talib was the Bucs first round pick last year and had played at the University of Kansas.  He had played well during his rookie season and finished with four interceptions for the year.

This news story is troubling given earlier this week Bucs starting Safety Tanard Jackson was suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Maybe it is a good thing the Bucs were giving away tickets to next week's preseason game after all. But unfortunately, all the Good Will that was displayed earlier this week will be overshadowed by the unfortunate events with off the field problems such as this.
