Scribblenauts Video Game Review Nintendo DS
Scribblenauts for the Nintendo DS may very well be the most creative video game ever made.
Scribblenauts is a puzzle-action game where anything you can think of you can write down and use in the game. That's right, any object or person your mind can think of will appear and you can use to pass the level you're on.
There are two levels which you can play on: Puzzle Level and Action Level.
In the puzzle level, you are given a task to accomplish and if you do it correctly you will be awarded the Starite which is a prized-star in the game.
An example of this puzzle level would be: you are shown characters such as a cop, doctor, fireman, and librarian and your mission would be to think of two objects that each of these characters use with their hands- a gun and a fire hose would be a good selection in this case.
In the action level, you must find a way to navigate between obstacles and enemies in order to get to the Starite.
An example of this would be that your character you play, Maxwell, is confronted by a werewolf, and the werewolf is in the way of you trying to reach the Starite. You would simply type in "silver bullet" and "gun" and these objects would appear. From here your character will pick them up and shoot down the werewolf in order to reach the Starite. How cool is that?!
One of the bonuses of playing Scribblenauts is that once you have completed a level, you can go back into the level on advance mode and try to beat the level again without using any of the objects you used before. And if you accomplish this feat three times in a row, you will be awarded with a merit, which is a great achievement for the game.
What did the creators of Scribblenauts do to make this such a creative game
The video game's creators studied a dictionary for 6 months in order to come up with a vast selection of objects and people to make the video game as creative as possible.
The video game's platform is on the hand-held Nintendo DS system which graphics-wise isn't top of the line, but that isn't what makes the video game.
The game is as good as your creativity and your mind makes it, which to me makes for a great replay value and should hardly ever make you feel bored from playing.
I highly recommend this game if you're wanting something fun and easy, with loads of possibilities- whatever your mind can think of, Scribblenauts should have it.

Geez...I'm a huge fan of Nintendo, but have yet to purchase a DSi or a Wii because I'm absolutely afraid that I'll get addicted. Games such as this will surely hijack me of my time...For the first time ever, I haven't bought a Madden title to celebrate the oncoming season (a very rare feat). Maybe I'll treat myself to any and all of these things once I get it together! Thanks, John.
