Most Disappointing Fantasy Football Players
It's only been two weeks of NFL fantasy football and some people out there may be a little disappointed with some of their 1st or 2nd round fantasy football players.
You know, those players that are supposed to be our studs and come through week after week without much drop off. We might let the occasional one bad game come around, but we pretty much have solid expectations, especially out of the gate to start the NFL season.
It is certainly very early in the season but I am going to name off a few players who have raised our eyebrows and are making us think they better turn it around, or this could be a long fantasy football season.
Top 5 Most Disappointing NFL Fantasy Football Players
Tom Brady - QB - New England Patriots
Okay, Tom Brady's numbers haven't been horrible (2 TD's 2 INT's 594 passing yards 76.8 passer rating) but you figure he was shut out without a touchdown in his last game versus the New York Jets, and only threw for 2 TD's in the closing minutes of what should have been a loss at home vs. the Bills in week 1. In comparison you have Matt Ryan who was selected anywhere from 4th round on and has 5 TD's 1 INT and 449 yards passing. So far it doesn't not seem Brady deserves the 1st or 2nd round status most people drafted him at.
Tennessee Titans - Defense
What is going on with the league's #2 projected fantasy football defense? First they showed a good performance on that opening Thursday night game versus the Steelers (they lost 13-10 in OT or was this a product of an inept offense in Pittsburgh?) but then they follow this game with a loss at home versus the very topsy turfy Houston Texans losing 34-31 at home. The team that started last year 13-0 is now 0-2 and their defense just got ripped in the air by Matt Schab and Andre Johnson. The Titans better put it together or they will be on the wrong side of .500 for the course of the season.
Greg Jennings - WR - Green Bay Packers
All right, Greg Jennings had a great opening game vs. the Chicago Bears with 6 catches for 106 yards and 1 TD, but going 0 catches, 0 yards in their 2nd game after being thrown to 5 times?! This is un-called for a 2nd round wide receiver. I truly think Greg Jennings will step it up throughout the season, but dropping a double zero is uncalled for in ANY game during the season. Hopefully his wrist isn't injured too bad. But if you are injured, why hurt the fantasy football owners who start you? Do the right thing and sit out and let us find a productive replacement.
LaDainian Tomlinson - RB - San Diego Chargers
This one hurts. Most people drafted L.T. as early as mid-first round to late first round pick and definitely haven't gotten their worth from him. For the season he has 13 carries for 55 yards. Not exactly what you're looking for a legitimate 1st round fantasy football draft pick. In comparison his teammate Darren Sproles has 19 carries for 49 yards rushing 1 TD AND 12 receptions and 167 yards 1 TD receiving. We know once again that L.T. is banged up with his ankle but we can only hope this isn't the start of a nagging injury that will last the entire season.
Brian Westbrook - RB - Philadelphia Eagles
I could probably pick a few other players but the lack of production from Brian Westbrook has me worried. Maybe the games haven't warranted Westbrook to contribute more (destroying Carolina 38-10 in the first game and getting destroyed by the New Orleans Saints 48-22) but having 26 carries for 116 yards seems kind of pedestrian for the running back for 2 games (or it could very well just be lack of touches). But keep your eye on Lesean McCoy if Westbrook happens to get injured.

Ladainian Tomlinson (I still refuse to call him by his initials, there was only one L.T., number 56) is an impostor. He's fumbling now and is often injured. That running attack now belongs to Sproles. Brady is also a lame duck in the face of a 5 or more man-blitz. Rex Ryan basically took a page from Spagnuolo when prepping the Jets defense.
Thanks, John. Good stuff as always, buddy.
