Who to pick up for NFL Fantasy Football

Fantasy Football is in full swing and we are kinda getting a feel of who are studs and who are duds. I have provided a list of the most disappointing Fantasy Football Players so far and now I am here to talk about some hidden gems (or they might not be so hidden now as they have pulled some good numbers through 2 weeks of NFL Football.

Let's roll the tape!

Mario Manningham - WR - New York Giants

Super Mario has been a pleasant surprise having scored a touchdown the last two weeks. You especially might want to pick him up for this weekend's game against the Bucs as the Bucs have given up a ton of yards in the air. Manningham has played well in place of injured WR D. Hixon. He has 13 catches for 208 yards and 2 TD's. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Steve Smith - WR - New York Giants

This sounds eerily familiar?? Pick up ANOTHER Giants receiver? Absolutely, yes! Steve Smith is just as up to par with Manningham (16 catches, 214 yards, 1TD) and he is a better route runner. He would be a solid pick-up especially since the Giants are playing against the lowly Tampa Bay Bucs this weekend. Remember, Tampa Bay gave Romo his career day in passing yards in week 1, and with the loss of yet another Defensive player (Jermaine Phillips) the Bucs are literally picking players off the streets to play (or close enough, practice squads).

Cedric Benson - RB - Cincinnati Bengals

Benson has been quite a surprise (along with the whole Bungals team, especially after defeating Green Bay on the road last week!). But his numbers are definitely worth noting (50 carries, 217 yards 1 TD). Not too bad for a guy who just couldn't get it together in Chicago and seems to be making the most of his new town in the Natty.

Willis McGahee - RB - Baltimore Ravens

I usually don't like running backs that split their carries but when you share the same amount of carries and get into the endzone while the other guy doesn't, i'll sometimes budge. So far McGahee has 25 carries for 123 yards compared to Ray Rice 27 carries for 144 yards, but the lone difference: McGahee 3 TD's, Rice 0. OH yeah, McGahee has 1 TD for receiving as well.

Tim Hightower - RB - Arizona Cardinal

Quick, who leads the Cardinals in receiving yards so far this season? Larry Fitz, no. Anquan Boldin, nope. Their running back Tim Hightower?! Crazy, eh? Timmy has 15 receptions for 133 yards and also has carried the ball 23 times for 87 yards rushing 1TD. In comparison, Larry Fitzgerald has 10 catches for 105 yards 2TD's.  Not a bad selection if you want a versatile running back.

Laurent Robinson - WR - St. Louis Rams

La-who?? Yes, we are slowly discovering who this wide receiver is for the Rams.  Whoever he is, he has posted 11 receptions for 141 yards and 1TD.  Not bad for a virtual unknown.

I have 2 reasons why, out of the gate, I love this hub! I won't get into WHY as I won't embarrass you, because I know you already know, you know???

Just wondering, how does Sproles rank? I don't see Ladainian returning to form any time soon. Tim Hightower is definitely benefiting from opposing defenses who focus on Boldin and Fitzgerald and the short passing attack. Willis McGahee is certainly a weapon and Cedric Benson is playing with a chip on his shoulder while proving his worth to the "Bungals" (nice). Thanks again, buddy.

Ha ha I think i know the two reasons, Dohn.

I think Sproles is a decent pick-up but I am not too happy with his running numbers (19 carries, 49 yards). He did blow up last week on the receiving end versus the Raves ( 7 catches, 124 yards) but then again one of those receptions was an 81 yarder.
